DON'T hit the road, Jack!

Ah, the trade rumors swarming shortstop Jack Wilson have sickened me for the past two weeks.  Will he stay?  Will he go?  Can the Pirates do without him?

I'd just like to say, I don't think that the Pirates can let go of Jack and feel good about it.  Jack has great defensive skills, is that really something that is worth getting rid of?  Who do we have to look to then?

Jack has been an essential part of the Pirates.  You can trade away Jason Bay and Xavier Nady.  But Jack?  You're killing the fans, here!  Okay, Neal Huntington, I have all my trust in you.  After all, who do I really trust in the Pirates organization?  I'm 15 years old.  I've never seen the Buccos have a winning season!  I guess I trust you!

As of today, at least when I woke up this morning, it was becoming less likely that the Pirates would trade Jack.  I could not be happier.  But, anything could happen.  I really hate saying that.

I will leave you all with this link; make sure you read what Nate McLouth had to say at the end of the article.  I feel like he GETS us!  [That article is where I got the picture above, too.]

p.s. I promise my blogs will get better.

the wait...

First off, congratulations to my favorite Bucco, Nate McLouth, for getting his first Gold Glove.

The wait is on...well, it's been on for a while now, but it's here.  It's almost miserable but I've been able to cope with some football.  But I'm not here to write about football.

I'm here to write about baseball.

and the stats at the moment:

        • 134 days until opening night (Atlanta at Philly - April 5)
        • 135 days until opening day, Pirates at Saint Louis (ew) - April 6
        • 142 days until Pirates home opener (vs. Houston - April 13 1:35pm)
